This is something that has really gotten on my nerves lately. I have friends that I know own guns. When you ask them if they think that owning a gun is a right they reply in the affirmative. However, they vote Democrat every election. In my mind I can't justify their apparent lack of deductive reasoning. They know that Democrats have a history and agenda that is unfriendly towards the right to bear arms. Why don't they understand that if Democrats are willing to take away the right of an individual to protect himself, then what morally inhibits them from taking other rights away? Why can't they see that regulation and big government does nothing to liberate a people? Is it a mental disorder that keeps them from clearly seeing the contradiction between the true definition of "liberal" and the ones we call Democrats?
I consider myself a conservative with libertarian leanings so this isn't a push for republican candidates. I find problems with both parties, but I would vote republican long before I would vote for a democrat as long as the republican is a true conservative.
