I Never Thought I'd Do This!

I bought a Colt double action revolver.

Fifty-nine years being a S&W guy, and I bought a Colt. It's a Detective Special, made in 1949 by the serial number and the Colt book. It's worn from holster carry and the left grip panel is chipped at the heel.

It also has the FitzGerald modifications. (Cut away trigger guard and bobbed hammer spur.) No doubt an aftermarket operation and not factory, but it's the classic style of the time. And, I note the double action function was cleaned up a bit. It's not like a K frame S&W, but it's better than a standard Colt at a walk.

I have a picture on my cell phone and I still haven't figured out how to down load it, so I don't have a picture. Nor have I been able to shoot it yet. This to come shortly.

Sorry I've been away for so long. My browser tipped over and I lost the website here. I'm back.

Here's the picture on this one. And, I recently added a Colt Police Positive to the 'old cop guns' collection. Not going to shoot these much; but I will test fire them with wadcutters and 158gr 'halt or I'll dent your paint' ammo.

The Police Positive was made in 1927 by serial number. Still haven't got to shoot either one yet. Hopefully within the next month. With luck, I'll post targets as well.

Okay, the pictures are larger than I thought they would be. Any suggestions for this?
